Each course is based on a leading educational text and research-based constructivist teaching strategies. Each course introduces teachers to pedagogical ideas and instructional strategies that immediately can be implemented in the classroom.
Each course requires the educator to post applications related to the content of the lessons. The required postings are applications completed during the online course, or applications completed in the participnt's classroom and posted on the online course. The instructor for each course reviews the postings and provides feedback. Also, the postings are shared with other educators taking the course.
Upon completion of each 30 hour course, the participant receives a Certificate of Completion, and maintains access to the site of the course for one full year to ask questions and share information with the course instructor, and other educators taking the course, regarding classroom implementation of the course content. Year-long access to the course site also includes access to a "boutique" of texts and internet links, updated several times during the year, related to the topics covered by the course.
