VESC™ Online Course Assessment, Data and Instruction

Under the current national and state testing requirements, the use of data in relation to assessment and instruction is absolutely key to raising student achievement in our schools. The VESC™ online course Assessment, Data, and Instruction addresses some of the core issues facing schools with regards to data.

Participants in this online course examine strategies to gather, present and use data to make decisions both at a school- and classroom-level. The course focuses on integrating assessment as part of classroom practice to ensure the educational progress of students.

This online course provides in-depth exercises, reflective questions, readings, and external information resources to make learning engaging and meaningful. As they engage in the various activities that comprise the online course, the participants use a variety of interactive strategies; these strategies are simple, but highly structured. These same strategies are to be used with students in the classroom to develop their communication and higher-order thinking skills.
