VESC™ PROVIDES ON-SITE, SUSTAINED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
AND PROVEN SYSTEMATIC EDUCATIONAL SOLUTIONS
FOR IMPROVED LEARNING, PERFORMANCE, AND ACHIEVEMENT

Welcome to the Ventures Initiative and Focus system. The Ventures Initiative and Focus system is a student-centered, research-based methodology, which improves students' literacy, analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills. School systems using the system substantially have improved student performance in each of these areas, while, at the same time, have improved standardized test scores from early grade-levels through high school. High schools working with the Ventures Initiative and Focus™ system have greatly increased college placements.  The system is customized to meet the needs of most districts and is particularly effective in underachieving and low-performing schools. From single topic, one-day seminars, to multi-year school/district-based professional development programs, VESC™'s customized approach can turn a struggling school into an extraordinary example of educational performance and achievement.

Within the Ventures Initiative and Focus system, specialty programs for Instructional Leadership, Literacy Instruction, Math & Science, Early Childhood Literacy, Special Education and Limited English Language Learners are available. VESC™ has been implementing these programs throughout the nation, with excellent objective results. These positive results are not limited to increased test scores and college placements, but extend to renewed school morale and a deep sense of personal achievement shared by the administration, teachers, and most importantly, the students.

VESC™ also offers an innovative program based on earlier VESC™ successful initiatives, aimed at training principals who play a critical instructional leadership role. Aptly named the Practicum for Principals and Instructional Supervisors™, this unique program focuses on the creation of a positive school culture and the improvement of instructional leadership to promote student achievement. This comprehensive, full-year, professional development program aims to equip school leadership with the tools necessary to supervise instruction more effectively within their sphere of responsibility. The program includes strategic planning seminars, workshops, hands-on site visits/mentoring and extensive training materials.

The Ventures Education Systems™ Corporation was launched in 1997 by President Maxine Bleich to provide a vehicle for the broad international distribution of proven research-based and applied systems of learning, including the Ventures Initiative and Focus system of student-centered learning and other related products and services. Under Bleich's direction, and through the longstanding dedication and work of her professional staff, the Ventures Initiative and Focus system has been developed, applied, refined, and integrated within schools nationwide, at all educational levels, over the past 30 years. The complete system, and its individual components successfully, have been replicated and sustained in both urban and rural schools K-12 nationwide, and in Puerto Rico.

VESC™'s systematic student-centered approach to learning achieves excellent results with all students, including students from culturally diverse, economically and educationally disadvantaged, and special populations -- some of whom have been labeled by others as difficult to teach or non-teachable. Implementation of the Ventures Initiative and Focus system leads naturally to improved learning, performance, achievement and actively engaged, lifelong learners.
